Responsibilities

As a Security Engineer, you will be deeply involved in various security technical aspects of our organisation.
You will lead our security hardening and defence efforts, ensuring our product portfolio remains current and effectively addresses the IDENTIFY, PROTECT, DETECT, RESPOND, and RECOVER pillars based on the NIST framework.
You will be supporting our Network, Windows, Linux engineers and Operations Team in their day-to-day operations to ensure the consistent implementation of strong security practices.
As a Security Engineer, you will handle Security Incidents for customers and internal infrastructure, and advise on how to mitigate the risk, avoid the risk and strengthen the assets security.
You will be working closely with the Head of Projects for all process related matters. The close collaboration with the Head of Cloud, Innovation & Security will touch various deep technical topics.
You act as an evangelist and inspire people and customers on how to improve their digital maturity.

SOC Operations
As part of your role, you’ll be performing SOC activities

  • Handling customer and internal security incidents
  • Threat and Vulnerability Management
  • IDS operations
  • EDR/MDR (SentinelOne) operations
  • (NIS2) Security audits
  • Managing our abuse & security mailboxes
  • Updating our security processes and documentation
  • Network Intrusion Prevention / Detection
  • Virtual Private Networks; SSL, IPSec and Site-to-Site
  • Enterprise Class Stateful Inspection Firewalls
  • Network Access Controls in context to Identity management
  • Windows Server OS & Desktop OS
  • Network Packet Inspection
  • Directory Services including LDAP, AD and Secure Authentication Technologies
  • Experience in implementing Information Security technologies and/or processes required.
  • Experience in defining Information Security strategies and frameworks
  • Experience integrating security technologies into corporate operations frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with client staff at all levels, from technical to executive
  • Multi-task oriented in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail

– Knowledge of Information Security risk assessment methodologies and standards
– Experience in developing technical documentation, including reports, proposals, statements of work, and whitepapers
– Ability to work independently, undertaking and completing project tasks on schedule with minimal supervision

Required skills and qualifications

– Education: BSc/MSc in Computer science/Engineering or 3+ years of relevant experience in a technical IT/Cybersecurity role
– Foundational knowledge or experience with networking technologies
– Foundational knowledge or experience with Linux and/or Windows systems
– Having any security-related certifications is a plus (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, …)
– Knowledge about enumeration tools (Shodan, AbuseIPDB, nmap …) or logging/monitoring/SIEM (Graylog, Icinga, LibreNMS, Grafana, or similar) tools is a plus
– Knowledge of Python and or Bash is a plus
– Good written & verbal English communication skills
– Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple responsibilities
– Having the ability to lead a project/case from the beginning to the end
– Hands-on approach
– Proactive thinking
