Organizations that want to keep using Teams must now purchase it as a standalone subscription. Existing subscriptions are not affected until their renewal date.<\/p>\n<h2>What Changed in Microsoft&#8217;s Subscription Structure?<\/h2>\n<h2>What is the Microsoft Teams separation?<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Teams separation is a licensing change in which Microsoft Teams is no longer bundled inside Office 365 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itaf.eu\/en\/services\/microsoft-365\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft 365<\/a> Enterprise packages. It is now sold as an independent subscription.<br \/>\nThis change applies to the following Enterprise plans:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Office 365 E1, E3, and E5<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft 365 E3 and E5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>When does this apply?<\/h3>\n<p>This separation takes effect for new or renewing subscriptions from October 1, 2023 onward.<\/p>\n<h3>How Does the Pricing Change?<\/h3>\n<p>As a result of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itaf.eu\/en\/what-can-microsoft-teams-do-for-your-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teams<\/a> being removed from Enterprise packages, the monthly cost of those packages is reduced:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Price reduction on existing Enterprise packages: \u20ac2 per month (\u20ac24 per year) per user<\/li>\n<li>Standalone Microsoft Teams subscription: \u20ac5 per month (\u20ac60 per year) per user<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Practical IT Example:<br \/>\nAn organization running 50 seats on Microsoft 365 E3 that wants to keep using Teams would see their per-user cost split across two line items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Their E3 subscription decreases by \u20ac2\/user\/month \u2192 saving \u20ac100\/month across 50 users<\/li>\n<li>They add a Teams standalone subscription at \u20ac5\/user\/month \u2192 adding \u20ac250\/month across 50 users<\/li>\n<li>Net change: +\u20ac3\/user\/month (+\u20ac150\/month total for 50 users)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a useful calculation to run before any renewal date to avoid unexpected budget changes.<\/p>\n<h2>What Happens to Current Subscriptions?<\/h2>\n<h3>\nAre existing subscriptions immediately affected?<\/h3>\n<p>No. Current subscriptions are not impacted until they expire. Organizations with active Office 365 or Microsoft 365 Enterprise plans continue to have access to Microsoft Teams within their existing package, unchanged, until their renewal date.<br \/>\nA renewal date is the date on which a subscription cycle ends and is either renewed or replaced.
